Captain Rich Adams

Rich Adams, joined Raymond Fire & Rescue in 2007, jokingly he felt "Can't beat 'em might as well join 'em" realizing there was a 50/50 chance they were waking him up at night when they left the station. He quickly became immersed in the emergency services, attaining Firefighter I certification soon after joining.

Although it was not planned, Rich started EMT Basic and finished "6 painful months" later. His early years consisted of many special projects with recruitment and fundraising, along with serving on the Board of Directors. Rich had previously worked for WEMSA - Wisconsin EMS Association as the Director of Sales & Marketing. Rich has recently become refocused on recruitment and public information. "I think the most important strategy for any rural volunteer or paid-per-call department is to develop very clear communications to your residents and reach as many people that may be interested in joining your department. Today we have get creative on every aspect that makes sense. Whether we find new ways to reach our residents, or ways to attract members from outside our boundaries that can fulfill the duties in some way, the goal is to find productive new members", Adams commented while motioning for "the soap box". Rich said that he has been referred to as the free entertainment, good or bad. He also mentioned that any praise for the fire department website could be sent his way, complaints or corrections could be directed to the Chief.

Rich currently works in the commercial roofing industry, but said "not really in the get your hands dirty way". Rich is married to Alexis, and they enjoy at a minimum of 1 week of warm weather vacation in the winter months. They do plenty of camping excursions throughout the fair weather season. Rich enjoys tinkering with cars and working on the "honey-do" list.
