2nd Assistant Chief, Jacob Dinauer

Jacob Dinauer has served as the 2nd Assistant Chief since 2017 after being Captain for nearly a decade, and joined the department in 2001 while attending graduate school at Carthage College. Jacob born and raised in Raymond, attended Raymond Elementary School and Union Grove High School.

AC Dinauer served two terms on the board of directors, before becoming an officer in 2007. AC Dinauer, our EMS training officer, has many responsibilities within the department including EMS continuing education and licensure, EMS documentation Q/A, billing administrator, and Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) planning. AC Dinauer is a firefighter and advanced EMT, and holds a several additional certificates such as HAZMAT, Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), forcible entry, and FEMA incident safety officer. Jacob is also a state licensed EMS Instructor, and a certified CPR instructor.

Outside of the department Jacob has degrees in exercise sport science, athletic training, and education from Carthage College. Jacob is employed at Carthage as head athletic trainer and senior lecturer providing sports medicine care to 800 NCAA Division III athletes while teaching in the athletic training major. Jacob is also employed by Gateway Technical College as an adjunct EMS instructor and National Registry of EMT's examiner. Jacob married his wife Monica in 2004 and they have three children Estella, Drew, and Lillian. Jacob enjoys hunting, fishing, exercise, and sports in his free time.
